The 49ers shined under the "Sunday Night Football" lights at Levi's Stadium, defeating the Atlanta Falcons 20-10 behind a complete team effort. From a strong ground game to relentless defense, San Francisco set the tone in all three phases.

McCaffrey Keeps the Offense Rolling

Christian McCaffreypowered the 49ers attack once again, leading the team in rushing yards, receiving yards, and touchdowns. The dual-threat RB finished the night with 129 yards on the ground and 72 yards through the air and both of the 49ers touchdowns. McCaffrey now has over 100 rushing yards and over 70 receiving yards for the seventh time in his career, breaking a tie with hall of famer Marshall Faulk and Priest Holmes for the most such games in NFL history.

Defensive Front Dominates

The 49ers defense consistently collapsed the pocket and shut down Atlanta's run game. Defensive linemenBryce HuffandSam Okuayinonucombined for a sack, whileMykel Williamsadded key pressures throughout the night. Stepping in at MIKE linebacker,Tatum Bethuneled the unit with 10 tackles and a crucial fourth-quarter tackle for loss.

Resilient Response After Early Turnover

After an early interception ended a promising drive, the offense regrouped and put together consecutive scoring series to take control. QBMac Jones' poise and McCaffrey's reliability helped San Francisco find rhythm against an Atlanta defense that entered the contest with the NFL's No. 1 total and pass defense, highlighting the team's composure.

Pieiro's Perfect Under Pressure

KickerEddy Pieirowas perfect on the night, hitting from 55 and 43 yards to add key points before halftime and early in the second half. He set a franchise record with 17 consecutive made field goals to open a season, passing former 49ers kicker Robbie Gould's mark from 2017. Pieiro is now 10-for-10 on field goals of 40-plus yards this year.

Defense Seals the Game

Atlanta's final two possessions ended with incompletions and pressure as San Francisco's defense closed in late. Strong coverage from cornerbackDeommodore Lenoiron Falcons receiver Drake London and a QB hit from Huff on Michael Penix Jr. prevented any chance of an Atlanta comeback.

The 49ers now stand at 5-2 and will travel to Houston next week to play against the Texans in Week 8 on October 26.
